For a crisp and concise understanding of Ghana's case, go to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Seas website and read the consenting opinion of Ad Hoc Judge Mensah on the Tribunal's Order of April 25, 2015 relating to the Ghana-Ivory Coast case. In law, if you went home from work and found a painter painting your house without your order, but you did not object to his action and even offered him a cup of tea, upon completion of the painting work could you refuse to pay the painter? The answer is simple: you have to pay the painter for his work because not only did you fail to object to his action, you even encouraged him by giving him a cup of tea. Similarly, Ivory Coast has never objected to Ghana's exploration endeavours and the former President of Ivory Coast acknowledged Ghana's exploration work. Ghana has a good de facto case!
