Dr. Kwabena Donkor must put the money where his mouth is:
Come out and encourage local businesses to shift from trading in buying and selling to investing in power generation; especially in renewable resources like solar and wind. We are ready to set up solar farms and wind parks so stop talking and act, Hon. Dr. Donkor.

As JFK said:
"Ask not what the govt. can do for you, but what you can do for your country."
I know of Kwahu businessmen who want to set up wind parks on the Kwahu Ridge; they need the encouragement and the partnership.

I had partners from europe to produce 100mw of solar power, I was told by energy commission they can only allow for 20mw maximum, even the power purchasing agreement is so dubious in the end we were discourage to proceed. We are currently starting our first project in Ethiopia. here the country is ready for RE. Why should I (Ghanaian) take such important project to another country? Our country is just not ready, leaders talk too much and do little or none. Doesn't make any common sense to invest in thermal instead of Renewable Energy? Initial investment, the running cost and unsustainable nature makes unattractive.

The Government present and future should invest heavily in the Energy Sector. There are so many alternative in generation power to the National Grid. The local investors cannot just embark in the energy sector without having some knowledge of what there are getting themselves into. All what you need to start expanding the energy sector is to bring in few experts and use the Ghanaian Technicians and Engineers to really dedicate themselves to the work. Then at the end we have a capacity building in the energy sector of various kind.
