The system of clearing of goods in Ghana should be made simple and no complicated as it is now. We must do away with all the so called clearing agents to avoid corruption . In Gamble for instance, when you a car from let say UK, you can make payment the duty on the car from there before clearance. You don't need any middlemen. It is also crazy to buy a car worth £300 and the import duty is around £3000. Even Nigeria we all noise about as very corrupt pay lower amount on import duty. Everyone who works at customs is corrupt, they are interested in their selfish interest rather than the country. It is about time this government stop ripping it's own people off as most of these taxes end up in individuals pockets.

So are we still blind as a country? Why do you impose so much tax on things which are highly impossible to produce in your country. Most people outside are not even encouraged to send cars to Ghana because the cost doesn't make sense. This is why old and out of date vehicles are still on our roads. We are reducing the economic welfare of people in the name of tariffs. However, the blind will never see this.
