Do you know that nations blessed with natural resources have less wealth than those less? This is to be blamed on bad governance and weak institutions.
This is what needs to happened in ghana for things to change.
Consult Martin Skankar of Norway, a fund manager.
A percentage of all revenues from oil, gold, cocoa etc MUST be deposited into a ghana sovereign fund and invested all over the world by the best investment brains. This money will not be touched by any government, ever! Infact, the revenues accrued from this investment will be used to fund pension, healthcare, education, infrastructural projects, roads etc in Ghana.
DON'T Invest in: What companies produce and how they are produced e.g don't invest in nuclear/chemical weapons, tobacco, companies like walmart(humanitarian clauses)
Norway has pretty much built their economy from the oil they have. Their sovereign fund is the largest national 401k in the world!
"Bad Aid" by Dambisa Moyo
thats the only reason behind these loans from imf. the Ghana govt artificially create the monetary and economic conditions in Ghana that we need the loans. They dilute the numbers. they dont care about the future repercussions or interest rate to ghana. once the multinational loans are issued, they jump.for joy like daycare kiddies, aben wo ha, our day niggas! some.sod cuts for show and presumed contracts are signed but the jobs will never see the light of day!
Corruption, Mismanagement and public sector inertia, redtape is the cause for all this mess and imf fuckers! We have no one to blame but us and no one will ditch us out. If your own family won't ditch you out of a grave. What do you expect from imf? Until we can find a solution to those issues listed. These corrupt politicians who steal don't even reinvest their stolen monies back in ghana. That's why ghana is suffering! Who are you waiting for to bring money into ghana? Remittances from "burgers" or imf dollars? Like my Oldman always use to say "you have a llooonnngggg way to.go"! Believe nothing you hear and 1/2 of what you see!!!

The socialism mentality of John Mahama and the hopeless NDC government are inconsistent with the Fund's programs. So it is most probable that they will not implement the conditions. It is just a show. How will John Mahama back away from his penchant desire to revive dead and decayed state-owned enterprises, let alone privatize the moribund ones? The Fund will surely ask him to ax the SOEs and forget about resuscitating the glass and sugar factories, and resurrecting the national airline.
If Ghanaians do not embrace capitalism completely,we will be in the doldrums of socioeconomic development forever.
If you think about socialism, remember Mikhail Gorbachev and the disintegration of the USSR.
The day Dr. Kwame Nkrumah detached himself from J.B.Danquah and his team and sowed the seed of socialism,he was planting the corruption canker in the Ghanaian society. All the corruption cases are emanating from the government(Santa Claus) institutions.
If we do not reduce the size of Santa
Claus substantially, privatize in an unprecedented fashion and seriously retool law enforcement so they can grab the bull by the horn,we cannot combat corruption. So far what everybody is good at is paying lip service and shifting the corruption highlight.
First it was Tsatsu Tsikata, then Dr Brobbey and Kwadwo Mpianim. Then came Wayome, the Akomfem rot, then the CHIRAJ overseer. Now it is the 2014 world cup merciless looting, the NSS and the Korle-Bu create and share. These cases are almost cold now.So let us look for the hot ones now in obscurity.
There are so many toothless bulldogs in administration in Ghana. So the corruption canker will continue unabated.

Accountability for aid cash is in question not aid per se.
The state institutions responsible for accountability are dead: bring them to life to work.
