The actions of the State Housing Company's MD's action will define President Mahama's fate: If fails to sack him instantly he will doomed a failure. The suspicion that he is weak and indecisive will be sealed.

IT IS SIMPLIFIED THUS:'AFRICANS FRUITLESSLY TRYING TO 'DEVELOP' THROUGH FOREIGN EYES (CULTURE). THAT IS FORCING FOREIGN VALUES AND CAPABILITIES ON AFRICANS BY AFRICANS OUTSIDE AFRICAN CULTURAL VALUES.

I don't know how old are you. and I will ask anyway,do you remember Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation (GHIHOC) which was set up by the Father of the nation Dr Nkrumah. GHIHOC had nearly 18 subsidiaries producing . matches, pharmaceuticals, Shoes, sugar etc. Was Nkrumah developing the country through foreign eyes? GHIHOC was dismantled in 1967. Since Nkrumah, we have never had leaders with visions and post Nkrumah leaders cannot see beyond their noses. After 47 years of the demise of GHIHOC we now have a president saying I wear Ghana made shoes. The problem is that the basic principles underlying politics in Ghana are self interest first, party interest second and national interest comes last.

Civil orgnations, churches, chiefs and all the whole country should embark on a campaign to support Mr.Obeng's outfit the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC)to develop a medium and a long term national economic development programme for the country. We need to change our constituion to make it a mandatory that any party that comes into power to follow the programme. In fact I will go further to say that the programms must be voted on through referrandum. This will ensure continuity and to stop the one step forward and two steps back developing processes

I have advocated that the GNPC should be depoliticized and transformed into a Tripartite constitution comprising Think-Tank membership from Government, Higher Education, and Private Industry, with staggered membership lasting for ten years. The government representatives replaced by members from the incoming government. We should also move away from solely being producers of primary products and employ vertical integration mode of production and convert most of the primary produce into semi-finished goods or finished goods in Ghana. We must also beef up trade with other African countries and other developing countries where we can sell most of our manufactured products while at the same time gradually penetrate the developed markets with our manufactured goods. In addition, for a coherent development, we need to employ a Systems Thinking approach in our development.
