It does not take much to know why there was a decline in the volume of Direct Foreign Investment in the country in 2012. Usually, potential foreign investors tend to do their investment in countries they have earmarked for that around the third quarter the of year. Unfortunately for Ghana, the political fallout which preceded the 2012 elections and after, had imparted, adversely, on foreign investors, hitherto, willing-hands to invest in the country in the period. And the country is not out of the wood yet. With the NPP petition to the Supreme Court regarding the election results still lingering on, it will take some time before foreign investors direct their investment in Ghana. And that, also, will depend on both the outcome of the judgement by the Supreme Court and when. Ghana's new direct foreign investment prospect for this year is, at best, jittery if not doomed. What is certain is that the political wrangling which is going on now, after the election, is doing harm to Ghana's economic development prospects. And it's about time it's stopped. And Ghana moves forward!
