Banku - Powers round 2, imminent

Bukom Banku and Ayitey Powers Bukom Banku and Ayitey Powers

Braimah “Bukom Banku” Kamoko enjoyed a winning return to the ring, scoring a fourth-round technical knockout over David Okine at the Aborigines Beach Resort in Keta in the Volta Region of Ghana.

It was Kamoko’s first bout since defeating rival Ayitey Powers in May 2014 in front of the largest recorded crowd at a boxing event on Ghanaian soil. His ring-rustiness was obvious as he struggled to impose his authority early on, but Kamoko found his groove in the second and third, pummeling away at his opponent. The assault continued in the fourth, leaving Okine with no choice other than to throw in the towel 33 seconds in.

Kamoko maintains his perfect career record, notching a 28th straight victory and his 20th knockout.

Afterwards, he declared his readiness to repeat his win over the aforementioned Powers when they clash in a scheduled rematch in Kumasi on Boxing Day, December 26.

“I will beat Ayitey Powers again, yes my fans should start celebrating,” Kamoko told ring announcer Prince Dornu-Leiku.

“My secret is training and I’m getting back into the ring just tomorrow to start preparing for December 26 in Kumasi,” Bukom Banku added.
