Barnor determined to win WBU title

Boxer Michael Barnor has vowed to take advantage of his date with destiny on March 15 when he stands the chance of winning a version of world title in the United Kingdom on a night of boxing featuring four other boxers from Ghana.
Barnor is billed to face British boxer, Jamie Speight for the World Boxing Union (WBU) Super Bantamweight championship at the Bournemouth International Centre, Exeter Road, Bournemouth, Dorset under the promotion of Kingfisher Matchmaker Ltd.
According to the Ghanaian, he couldn't have got any better opportunity to achieve his lifelong dream of becoming a world champion. Barnor has therefore sworn to silence Speight who apparently has been talking very loudly.
"I've heard all about what Speight has been saying on social media and all. I want him to be told that I have friends who keep me informed of all that he has been saying. I am prepared for everything he will throw at me in the ring. This is a chance I have been praying for all my life so I'm focused and determined to win. Nothing can intimidate me," Barnor told www.sportsinghana.com in aninterview.
On the same bill, three other Ghanaians, Ibrahim Labaran, Emmanuel Clottey and Philip Kotey are all also scheduled for world title shots with a fifth, Michael Ansah also featuring on the bill. Labaran fights Gareth Hogg for the WBU Light Heavyweight title, Emmanuel Clottey, senior brother of former world champion, Joshua Clottey faces Ryan Barrett for WBU Welterweight belt, Kotey contests Scott Dixon for WBU Super Middleweight title whilst Ansah battles Iain Weaver in a 10 round international contest.
Barnor is expected to leave Accra for London on 12th March with his trainer, Samuel Annan and manager, Prince Tuffour and return back home on the 17th March, with as he promises the world title in tow.
"I'm promising all Ghanaians that I'm going to bring the title to Ghana. All I want them to do is to pray for me and come to the airport on 17thMarch to welcome me back with the title," Michael Barnor pledged.
