Tackie may face Teddy Reid in January

America Presents’ fighter Ben Tackie has received an offer to fight Teddy Reid on ESPN2's Friday Night Fights in January.

"I have had an offer to face Teddy Reid on ESPN that we might take. They are looking at a late January date," said Tackie's manager Lou Decubas.

Decubas said that Tackie, from Ghana, still has much to offer despite his loss to John John Molina on the Lewis-Tua undercard on November 11.

"He hasn't lost any value as a young guy,” said Decubas. “He is coming off three great wins in a row over Golden Johnson, Roberto Garcia and Fred Pendleton. There is no embarrassment with the loss to Molina, it was a pretty close fight."

Tackie, 21-2 (13KO's), had looked very impressive in his wins this year until being outboxed by 35-year-old former world champion Molina, who beat him on a split decision - 97-93 (twice) and 94-96.
