Bombers storm Kumasi on Friday

The national amateur boxing team, the Black Bombers, will engage a combine team of amateur boxers from the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti regions in a warm-up event in Kumasi this Friday.

It forms part of preparations by the Bombers towards the SCSA Zone III championship, which Ghana hosts in Accra.

The programme is also intended to provide the national side with enough toughness ahead of the Zone III competition, which will be held between March 31 and April 5.

The Bombers have largely concentrated their preparations in Accra, beating a select Greater Accra team on two separate occasions.

Friday?s exercise is, therefore, expected to give them more experience as the opposition has changed this time round.

From Kumasi, the team will move to Wa for a similar exercise with boxers in the Northern part of the country.

At the camp of the Bombers at the moment are Thomas Ayeetey, Fuseini Assandoh, Godwin Cudjoe, Paa Kwasi Ankrah and the sensational Joseph Martey.
