Athletics Championship: 0 Gold 0 Silver 0 Bronze

The 9th IAAF World Championships in Athletics is over and Ghana won 0 Gold 0 Silver 0 Bronze. The most Impressive athlete was long jumper Ignisious Gaisah, who almost won a bronze medal

In an exciting, edge-of-the-seat final, Ignisious Gaisah just failed to nip the bornze in the men's long jump at the ninth World Athletics Championships in Paris on Friday. Gaisah of Ghana, who registered 8.13m on his second attempt, finished fourth behind Dwight Phillips (Gold), James Beckford (Jamaica), Yago Lamela of Spain. This was the best position of a Ghanaian athelete at the world championship

    Owusu Takes Eighth at World Championships
    Middle Tennessee track assistant Andrew Owusu (pictured) finished eighth in the triple jump Monday at the 9th Annual IAAF World Track & Field Championships in Paris, France.

    Owusu jumped 16.86 to take eighth Monday afternoon in Paris for his native Ghana. The Blue Raider graduate assistant coach had a mark of 55-5 in Saturday's qualification round to make the finals.

    Former Blue Raider Christian Nsiah will also represent Ghana during the World Championships, running on a relay this weekend.
