Chairman of Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee, Ernest Norgbey, says Sports Minister Kofi Adams addressed most of the questions raised during his engagement with the committee over Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The engagement focused on expenditure related to the World Cup as well as other activities undertaken by the ministry before the tournament.

Speaking after the meeting, Norgbey said the minister provided responses to the committee’s concerns, leading to what he described as a satisfactory engagement.

“From the World Cup expenditure to other activities before the World Cup, questions were asked and the minister dealt with them,” he said.

His comments come a day after the Local Organising Committee (LOC) appeared before the committee, with Norgbey saying some questions could not be addressed because the relevant committee heads were unavailable.

“Unlike yesterday, when the LOC chairman decided to dodge most of the questions by stating that the various committee heads were not available, today the Minister did justice to almost all the questions,” he added.

Norgbey said the committee’s expectations were largely met following the Minister’s responses.

“By and large, I may say our expectations were met,” he stated.
