The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has expressed satisfaction with Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz despite his late appointment, as the team prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He said that the training sessions Queiroz has held with the players, the decisions taken, and his approach to games so far have been impressive considering the short time since he took charge.
The minister indicated that the momentum and spirit in camp have been great, giving him hope that the team will perform well at the tournament.

“Well, I think preparation has been good, even though our coach’s appointment came a bit late, he’s done quite well. There’s good spirit in camp, they are training very heavily, and we do promise Ghanaians that something good will come out,” Kofi Adams told Citi Sports.
The Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency noted that despite the team being underrated due to its low ranking, he believes they will make an impact at the tournament.
He stressed that the Black Stars are going to the Mundial with the mindset of winning, just like other teams in the competition.
“Even though, if you look at the expectations and those doing the analysis, they claim that Ghana is the least likely, after Iraq, to make any headway, we are going to make a lot of progress. That is what we wish to happen. All the 48 teams in the Mundial are there to win. Ghana is also there to win,” he added.
