Former Ghana captain, Stephen Appiah has delivered a passionate message to the Black Stars, urging the players to seize their moment and make the most of the opportunity to represent Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking ahead of Ghana's fifth appearance at football's biggest tournament, Appiah stressed that playing at the World Cup is a privilege that should never be taken for granted.
The former midfielder, who captained Ghana at the country's maiden World Cup appearance in 2006, told the current squad that the time has come for them to make their mark on the global stage.

"It is their time and the right moment. The moment has come and they should take it. They shouldn't play with it because we have seen players who had such opportunities and now they are paying for whatever happened," Appiah said.
He noted that the modern era presents even greater opportunities for players to build their legacy, pointing to the influence of social media and global exposure.
"In 2006 there was no social media, but now there is. They have to take advantage of every chance they get," he added.
Appiah also reminded the players of the responsibility that comes with wearing the national jersey, emphasizing that they are not only representing Ghana but the entire African continent.
"They have to know that they are playing for the African continent. Wearing that shirt, they should know how important it is and they should fight for everything to achieve something," he stated.
