Negotiations hit deadlock as Medeama SC all but pull plugs on Yacouba pursuit

Medeama SC have pulled the plugs on their pursuit of Sogne Yacouba as negotiations hit a deadlock, because of what they term as outrageous demands from the player, FMiG can exclusively reveal.

The club made a massive breakthrough in talks yesterday and the way was paved for the concluding parts of negotiations before the player signed a contract.

However, the last minute demands of Sogne Yacouba have, if not delayed the process, scuppered entirely the chances of the deal happening eventually.

As things stand it looks highly unlikely the deal will happen.

According to a deep throat source, Yacouba’s representatives had already agreed in principle to a deal for one year with Medeama SC.

They communicated to the club that the player was set for a move to Saudi Arabia very soon and as such wouldn’t want to commit to a long term deal with the Tarkwa based outfit.

After further deliberations, Medeama SC agreed to this and the green light was given for further talks. These discussions took place just after Medeama SC had beaten Legon Cities in Accra in the Ghana Premier League.

Its believed a figure was agreed between Medeama SC and the player’s representatives.

However, after talks in the last 24 hours, the player according to Medeama SC is making outrageous demands, something which irked club president Moses Armah to abruptly pull the plugs on further talks.

FMiG’s credible source tells that Yacouba is demanding a $100,000 signing-on fee for a one year contract, something Medeama deems as very expensive and injudicious on their part to agree.

With Yacouba and his reps playing hard ball, negotiations have stalled and the deal looks frozen as things stand.
