General Assistant of Black Stars is dead

Accra, Aug 18, GNA - Moses Ishmael, General Assistant of the senior national team, Black Stars, popularly known in soccer circles, as "Ishmoo" is dead.

He died at the SNITT Hospital, Osu, in the early hours of Thursday. Though the immediate course of his death is not known, Hospital sources and close members of his family GNA Sports interviewed said the deceased was admitted on malaria related symptoms.

Ishmoo who celebrated his 31st birthday a week ago, has been with the Black Stars for some time now. He began as a ball boy before rising to the position of General Assistant.

Before his untimely death, Ishmoo was also a masseur trainee. Ishmoo's last assignment with the Black Stars was in Johannesburg a couple of months ago, when the Stars beat Bafana Bafana 2-0 in a group Two tie of the 2006 World Cup qualifier to take Ghana to the summit.

Burial arrangements would be announced later.
