50 000 seats still available for Ghana clash

There are still around 50 000 tickets available for the crucial South Africa vs Ghana match to be held at Soccer City outside Johannesburg tomorrow afternoon. The two teams will battle it out to qualify for the World Cup and the African Cup of Nations.

Sipho Nyembe, manning the phones at the stadium, says they do not have firm figures yet, but their marketing department says an estimated 30 000 tickets have been sold. The venue has a maximum capacity of 80 000. Nyembe says the tickets are going at R20 each for adults and R10 for children. He warns that tickets will not be sold at the stadium on the day.

Post Office Dennis Mumble, the stadium's general manager says, in order to maintain crowd control, tickets are being sold at post offices around the country, ensuring that there is not a chaotic rush on the day of the match. Nyembe says stubs will also be available at various points placed a kilometer or more from the venue.

Fans should also note the traffic changes put into place for the day. Mumble says motorists will be asked to go in a clockwise pattern around the stadium, coming from the western side, and Nasrec road will be closed. He says there will be more than 1 000 security personnel on duty.
