Disciplinary Cttee issues action against teams, officials and players

Accra, May 11, GNA - The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association on Wednesday released the list of offending teams, officials and players in the 2005 Premier League of the third and fourth Week matches.

Mr K. Ampim-Darko, Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association in a Press Release copied to the GNA Sports said Kade Hotspurs have been fined a total of 1,500 cedis in their Third Week match against Cape Coast Dwarfs.

Hotspurs were fined 1,000 cedis for using an unapproved entrance to the field of play plus another fine of 500,000 cedis for causing 12 minutes delay in the start of their match. The Club has being warned of a severer action if there is a repetition of the offence of using unapproved routes in their subsequent matches.

Dwarfs were also fined 500,000 cedis for delaying the start of the said match against Hotspurs and ordered to pay the amount within 14 days.

Referees Stephen Oduro, Akwasi Appiah and Brefo Takyiakwa have been referred to the Referees Committee for reporting late in the third Week matches causing the matches to start 12 minutes late while Referee Roger Osabu also failed to submit his match report to the FA within 48 hours as prescribed.

In the Fourth Week League match, a release issued from the GFA copied to the GNA Sports said it was reported that Arsenals sprinkled a powered substance on the field in violation of Article 36 (3) of the regulation governing the league in their match against AshantiGold. Arsenals have therefore been fined one million cedis to be paid within 14 days failure of which the Club will forfeit its next league match.

In the Disciplinary action against players, Seth Opoku of Arsenals was expelled for a second bookable offence and is therefore suspended for two consecutive matches in addition to a fine of 200,000 cedis. In the Power match against Hotspurs played at Tema, William Asante, a reserved goalkeeper of Hotspurs was reported to have threatened to assault Referee Christine Tetteh for allegedly performing poorly and joined by his other colleagues and their conduct is therefore referred to the Disciplinary Committee for the necessary action.

Both Power and Hotspurs reported late for their pre-match technical meeting and therefore been fined 100,000 cedis each to be paid within 14 days.

Real Sportive reported late to the pre-match technical meeting in their fourth Week league match against Dwarfs and have therefore been fined 100,000 cedis to be paid within 14 days in accordance with the rules governing the league.
