Michael Helegbe to play in Norway

Michael Helegbe is expected to soon land a contract with SK Brann - a top Norwegian club side.

The Liberty Professionals player, who won the "DISCOVERY OF THE TOURNAMENT" at the 2004 Coca-Cola GHALCA Top 4 awards, arrived in Norway about a week ago for a trial at my club.

This is a report on his progress:

"For those interested I want to bring you an update on Michael Helegbes training with SK Brann.

The main coach said that Helegbe's efforts during training has proved him worthy of a contract with the club. Helegbe has shown terrific dribbling skills, good passing and good shooting skills. It also seems that he has the right personal qualities to fit in with the rest of the group.

Helegbe has told the local media that he is impressed with the quality at the club, and that he's keen to commit himself to the club.

So, at this stage it is more likely than not that Ghana will have a player in the Norwegian premier division.

The club he'll be joining is a very big club in Norway, and are at this stage very ambitious. Helegbe will have the opportunity to play the UEFA-Cup and hopefully Champions League next year. SK Brann will also be a good starting point for play in bigger European leagues after a while.
