Joetex Asamoah scores first league goal

Enyimba International Football Club of Aba Ghanaian-born forward, Joetex Asamoah, on Wednesday, in Aba, scored his first league goal for his Nigerian club in the new season.

Joetex, who was on duty against Accra Heats of Oak, in Sunday's CAF Super Cup tie scored the curtain raiser off a header in the 3-0 spanking of newcomers, Zamfara United of Gusau.

Speaking with www.ghanaweb.com, Joetex said: "The goal is very important to me becasue it is my first this season and I intend to score more as the season progresses."

Joetex and his teammates in Enyimba would continue the campaign in the Globacom sponsored Premier League, on Saturday, when they travel to the South-Western part of Nigeria as guests of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan.

The former Ghanaian U-23 forward was joint highest goal scorer in Nigeria during the 2001/2002 season.
