Brazilian Trio Arrive For Kotoko Trials

Three Brazilian players have pitched camp with Kumasi Asante Kotoko for a trial stint.

The trio, originally scheduled to join the porcupine warriors last week, breezed into town Monday night and are scheduled to join the rest of the Kotoko squad in camp Tuesday.

Though they will not play any role in the team?s preparation for the African Confederations cup first leg tie against rivals Hearts of Oak, the Brazilians are expected to join the team in camp as they begin their trials.

The Brazilian trio are made up for two strikers, Uly De Castro Rodrigues aged 30 and 22 year-old Gleisson De Souza Ferreira with midfielder Fabio Louis Rodrigues da Silva also a 22 year old completing the list.

The South American players would undergo their trial period this week before Asante Kotoko finally decide on signing them on.

The deal to bring down the Brazilian trio was facilitated by Excel International Management, a sports consultancy.

In a related development, Kotoko will play the national team of the Benin in their final preparatory match for Sunday?s Confederation Cup clash at the Kumasi Sports Stadium Wednesday.

Coach Hans Dieter Schmidt is expected to use most of his regular team players who were rested for previous trial matches.

However Accra Hearts of Oak are scheduled to move out of their camp in Lome on Friday to complete the final lap of preparations in Accra.
