Ghanaian duo Razak Abalora and winger Enock Atta Agyei excelled for Azam FC on Sunday as they defeated rivals Simba FC 2-1 in the final of the Mapinduzi Cup.

Former WAFA shot-stopper Razak Abalora made a huge impact in the competition after conceding the minimum number of goals as Azam FC won the tournament.

Meanwhile, Atta Agyei set up Mudathir Yahya for Azam FC's opener in the 44th minute after taking on Simba's defenders to create the chance for the lead.

The lead lasted till the end of the first half and in the second half Simba equalized through his defender, Yusuf Mlipili, who headed in a corner from Shiza College in the 63rd minute.

Forward Obrey Chirwa, who emerged player of the competition, made sure of victory for Azam FC after beating Simba goalkeeper Nickolas Wada to seal the win with 18 minutes left on the clock.

Azam FC defended their title successfully and have now won the competition on five times. They were champions in 2012, 2013, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
