Ghana International Jordan Ayew was sent off in their English Premier League game against Huddersfiled Town on Saturday.

Ayew who has emerged as Swansea’s best player in the last couple of months was given the marching orders in as early as the 10th minute after his unintentional high foot challenge caught Huddersfield player Jonathan Hogg.

Jordan Ayew took a heavy touch as a long ball is pumped at him. As he chased the loose ball it's a 50-50 with Jonathan Hogg. But the ball was bouncing, leading to a full-blooded and awkward tackle which sees Ayew's studs connect with the side of Hogg's knee. It was ugly and left the referee with no choice than to send him off.

He surely didn’t mean it and it wasn't malicious but there's no doubt it was industrial. Swansea had to play the remaining 80 minutes of the game with a man short but stood firm to record an impressive goalless draw.

Jordan will miss games against Tottenham Hotspur - quarterfinals of the FA Cup - as well as Southampton, to complete the three-match ban.

Jordan Ayew was earlier this week voted Swansea City Player for February after his displays in the month under review. He played in six matches across all competitions and scored a goal for the Swans.

Fans of the team voted in favour of the Ghanaian and the result was announced by the club on Twitter on Friday.
