Panstil touted as Maccabi Tel Aviv captain

Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Nir Klinger could name Ghana defender John Panstil as the club's captain for next season in place of Tal Ben Haim who is expected to leave the club.

Klinger sent a fax yesterday to the Ghana Football Association saying that Panstil was not involved in any wrongdoing in the case of the theft committed by another Ghanian, striker Bernard Don Bortey, during trials with Maccabi last month, and that he was in fact a candidate to take over the captain's job next season.
