African Super Cup Excites JoeTex

Ghanaian-born Nigerian based forward, Joetex Frimpong, has expressed happiness to be in the Enyimba squad that won the African Super Cup for the first time for Nigeria.

Speaking shortly after Enyimba's 1-0 victory over Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel in Aba, Frimpong who was left on the bench by new Serbian-born Australia manager, Miroslav Urukalo, said it was a good way to start the year.

"I am very happy to be in the squad that won the African Super Cup. With this, it is clear that Enyimba are the best club in the African continent. I am very proud to be in the team," he said.

The Ghananian expressed confidence that the year would be a good one for the club and himself.

Said he:"It is a good way to start the year. I pray it continues and I hope to be in Europe before the season is over."

Frimpong, who made his debut for Ghana's U-23 team last year, scored six goals in Enyimba's African Champions League campaign last year.

He missed the semi-finals and finals due to a injury.
