Benitez lauds Christian Atsu

Manager of Newcastle United, Rafa Benitez has heaped praise on Ghanaian midfielder Christian Atus for his exceptional performance in their mid-week 2-0 win over Wigan.

Atsu who came off the bench to score the all important goal, to send his side to the top of the English championship, has rediscovered his form under the Spaniard.

“We needed fresh legs and a little bit of pace. He can do it, and he did it well," he said.

“That was the ideal situation for us, we needed the second goal to finish the game.”

The 24-year-old midfielder is highly tipped to start in their next game.
