Greater Accra Division Two League Zone 3: Emmanuel FC are the real deal

Emmanuel FC Emmanuel FC

The sky seems to be the limit for Emmanuel FC this season. They appear to be the real deal after absolutely annihilating Auroras on match day 12 in the 2016 Greater Accra Regional Division Two Zone 3 League.

With a performance that echoed how sensational their season has been, Emmanuel simply could do no wrong as they shrugged off Auroras in a masterful three-goal display.

Week after week TB Joshua’s boys continue to assert themselves as the league’s front-runners and already look certain to snag the golden ticket to the middle league.

Another team vying for passageway into the middle league is Accra Youth, and the young ‘Eleven Is To One’ moved a step closer to reaching that ultimate achievement with a 3-1 mauling of Dawtex.

However, not all teams contending for the coveted 2nd position were as fortunate on the day.

Dynasty expected to have a walk in the park against Westland FC, but were caught completely off guard by a expertly executed defensive game plan.

Golden Boys nearly conquered Newtown Youth with an exquisite free kick only to see the ball somewhat comically hit the cross bar, bounce off the keeper, and somehow boomerang out of play.

Meanwhile in the middle of the pack FCM Maamobi and Zein FC seized grand opportunities to shoot up the table with respective 1-0 wins.

Anyhow, the highest scoring match took place at Alajo Presby Park. It was like watching an aggressive game of tug of war as Great Farcos and Lenient went out with all guns blazing in a 2-2 slug fest.

The match was a great testament to the never say die attitude and unbelievable passion of Ghanaian football.

Match Day’s 12 effect on the table

Emmanuel’s massive victory has cemented their status as kings of the season. Accra Youth’s win has stopped their slide down the table and they now sit proudly in 2nd.

Dynasty and Newtown Youth have both dropped one spot to third and fourth, Golden Boys remain in 5th, while FCM Maamobi’s victory has helped them to attain 6th.

Lenient’s draw has done them no favors as they fall to 7th, but Zein and Great Farcos benefited from the mid-week clash as they have risen up to snatch 8th and 9th.

Auroras were the biggest losers on the day and their blunders have finally caught up with them as they now find themselves ranked 10th and in the relegation drop zone.

The pain and suffering of Desert Warriors, Westland, Dawtex, and Powerlines has also continued as they rot away away locked in the bottom 4 spots.
