Ghana players must train extra to succeed in Europe - Abdul Razak

Abdul Razak Abdul Razak

Former Africa best footballer, Abdul Razak, has advised Ghanaian players to go the extra mile when they get foreign contracts.

Razak was speaking to a worrying situation currently in the football circles where local players return to their mother clubs with just six or more months in their careers.

Fatau Dauda, Daniel Agyei, Eric Bekoe, Kennedy Ashia, Bismark Idan among others have all returned to the domestic league after botched contracts.

But the former Black Stars player believes this trend could be reverted with extra work from the players.

“The foreign clubs have good players and they expect you from another country to be better than what they have. So they know you are in to help them than to equal what they have.

"So you (players) need to double up, that is train when there is no training. Because you are not there to sleep”, he told Starr Sports.

Popularly called the "Golden Boy", Razak also played for New York Cosmos, UAE side Al Ain FC and Ivorian side Africa Sports.
