French-born Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah added a goal to his splendid performance in the season by scoring the consolation goal for Caen in their 2-1 loss against Lorient in the Ligue 1 on Saturday.
The 23-year-old right-back pulled a goal back for Caen in the 64th minute before 17,000 fans at the Stade Michel d'Ornano. He picked a loose ball and embarked on an awesome solo run before finishing with glee to register his first ever goal in the French top-flight.
Lorient had taken a commanding 2-0 lead through a Benjamin Jeannot first-half strike and a beautifully converted penalty by Ghanaian Abdul Majeed Waris.
Appiah remains the most consistent outfield player in the French top-flight this season after playing every single minute for Caen who have now slipped to 9th spot.
The former AS Monaco defender has enjoyed a fruitful season at Caen this term and has started all of Caen's 33 Ligue 1 games so far in the campaign.
The only Caen player who has equaled that statistics is French midfielder Julien Feret.
