Hearts plan to plant three "juju" balls - Kotoko

...As Kotoko circles call for maximum security on Sunday

Kumasi, Aug 28, GNA-The National circles Secretariat of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Supporters Union, has called for maximum security in their league match against Accra Hearts of Oak in Accra on Sunday. The circles council also called on the Referee Appointment Committee to appoint a competent referee to ensure fair and firm officiating on Sunday.

A release signed by Mr Yaw Asante, Public Relations Officer of the National circles Council in Kumasi on Thursday, said information gathered by the council indicate that the management of Hearts in collaboration with their chapters had planned to resort to dubious means both on and off the field of play to win the match at all cost.

It said it also had information that the Referee Appointment Committee was conniving with a top management member of Hearts to influence the referee who will officiate the match.

Another piece of information, the release said, was that the management of Hearts were arranging with some workers of the National Sports Council (NSC) in Accra to mix three "juju" balls with the approved GFA balls that will be used on Sunday.

The release drew attention to the fact that Kotoko commands a large army of supporters who will attend the match in their numbers and who will not countenance any harassment or intimidation as planned by Hearts towards them (supporters), management, the technical team and the playing body, particularly Charles Taylor.

It therefore asked the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, GFA and the National Security Council to ensure maximum security on Sunday to avoid another May 9 or any unwanted situation on Sunday.
