Nana Asare handed one-match ban and fined € 400
Nana Kwesi Asare was sent off on Sunday in the Belgian top-flight.
AA Gent defender Nana Kwesi Asare has been handed a one-match suspension and a € 400 fine for his sending off in Sunday’s 5-2 defeat at KV Oostende.
The left-back received a straight red card in 73 minutes for a reckless tackle on KV Oostende’s South African midfielder Andile Jali.
"Asare denied the opponent a scoring opportunity (goal) or a goal," referee Wim Smet explained his expulsion in his match report.
The Belgian Football Association (KBVB) confirmed his punishment on Monday.
Asare will miss Gent’s clash against KSC Lokeren at the Ghelamco Arena on Friday.
