Home Stars whip Deelorm 3-1

Ho, Aug 24 GNA - Ho-based Home Stars Football Club on Sunday walloped Akwatia Deelorm Stars by three goals to one (3-1) in their Division One League match honoured at the Ho Sports Stadium.

Nicholas Gbegbeawo opened the score for the homers in the 15th minute, when he beat Deelorm's goalie Mallam Ousman with a good shot after receiving a diagonal cross from Ernest Gbegbeawo.

Deelorm's Michael Appiah failed in the 5th minute to convert a spot kick when Kwabena Boateng was brought down by Charles Dzisah. The homesters held onto the solitary lead until referee Alex Sowah of Accra whistled for the end of the first half.

The second half resumed with both teams showing traces of carrying the day but the homers laughed best when Dzisah headed home from Gbegbeawo's corner kick in the 50th minute.

Home Stars substitute, Issaka Razak in the 53rd minute, combined beautifully with Peter Amenorkpoh to score the third goal for his side. Boateng earned a penalty for his side in the 75th minute when he was brought down in the home team's vital area and it was converted beautifully by Kanu Nana Teye.

Dzisah was shown the red card for dissent. 24 Aug. 03
