Happy FM gives to Black Queens

Accra, Aug 1, GNA-Happy FM, a newly established private radio station based in Accra, on Friday donated 10 million cedis to the national women's team, the Black Queens.

This is in addition to 35 pieces of Lascoste and Baseball cups each with the name and logo of the station embroiled on them. Mr. Sekyere Boateng, General Manager of the station, said the management of the station is moved by the plight of the team in making the donation.

He expressed the hope that the donation would help the team to prepare for the women's world cup scheduled for September in the United States. Mr. Boateng said the station is fully behind the queens and would do everything possible to ensure the success of the team in the world cup. The General Manager said the main aim of their station is to promote sports in the country adding that it is one of the factors, which convinced them to come to the aid of the team.

He called on the team to do everything possible to lift the image of the nation during the tournament.

Mr. C.K. Donkor of the Black Queens management board received the items on behalf of the team and expressed appreciation to the station for the gesture.

He called on other organisations to follow the footsteps of Happy FM.
