Alex Quartey to handle Sierra Leone - Cape Verde match

Alex Quartey, Ghana's FIFA badge referee will be in the centre when the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone host their counterparts from Cape Verde Island in an African Cup qualifying match in Freetown on Sunday.

Quartey, whose nomination was communicated to the Ghana Football Association from CAF headquarters in Cairo on Monday, departs Accra for Freetown on Thursday, June 19.

He will be assisted on lines by Justice Yeboah and another referee yet to be named by CAF, which inadvertently sent the name of a non-Ghanaian second assistant.

Mr Costa Daniel Benoni of Cape Verde Island will be the match commissioner.

Alex Quartey was in the centre last week when Nigeria hosted Brazil in an international friendly at the New Abuja Stadium. Brazil won the match 3-0.
