Charles Taylor storms into Accra

Charles Taylor, Accra Hearts of Oak's mercurial striker has stormed into the nations capital, Accra, after the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) declaration on his status last Tuesday.

Barely six days after the association announced that the player was a property of Hearts to put to rest the controversy that surrounds the "dribbling wizard", he made a re-entry to into Accra on Sunday evening.

His return, according to a highly placed source to the GNA Sports, is for the player to hold talks with his employers after the FA had directed that the two should sit down to iron out their differences within one week.

Taylor is in capital in the company of Sylvester Owusu Asare, Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko as well as the player's two personal body guards popularly referred to as 'machomen'.

The 'terror' according to the source is lodging at the Holiday Hotel around Kotoka International Airport.

An insider close to the player revealed that the 2002 joint goal king is hoping to meet official of Hearts of Oak for the first time for a possible fruitful discussion on his desire to quit the club though GNA investigation revealed that the defending league champions had not officially invited nor briefed the player about a set date or time or venue for any such meeting.

While the SWAG player of the year is said to be itching to meet the big men of the Phobia family, the later is said not to be in a hurry for any such meeting as they insist that they have the right to meet Taylor at their own convenience.

According to our sources, Taylor, who has been under what the Phobians perceived as unlawful custody of Kotoko is optimistic that the discussion would be in his favour when he meets his employers.

It would be recalled that the prolific striker shocked the Hearts fraternity when he started flirting with the bitter opponents of the league champions and eventually abandoned the club at a time when his services were greatly needed to ferry the club into the money zone of the CAF club championship.

The player's outbursts that he had no contract with Hearts turned out to be a big lie and a shocker to officials of Kotoko who in spite of all these are moving heaven and earth to pull him into their fold to deplete the attacking power of Hearts.
