NSC Warns Fans

The National Sports Council (NSC) has warned that it is an offence to scale the railings around the inner perimeter in the Accra Sports stadium onto the pitch after the final whistle of any match.

A statement signed by Mr. Charles Aryeh, Head of Public Unit of the NSC, said the practice where fans jump over the inner perimeter onto the pitch after matches, has created a lot of security problems for teams and match officials. The statement similarly urged fans to desist from loitering around the main entrance of the Accra Sports Stadium before and after matches thus blocking access to the VIP area.

It warned that offenders will henceforth face the full rigours of the law should they force their ways into the restricted areas of the stadium.
