On the last day of the Serie A season, Parma AC and Udinese Calcio qualified for next season's UEFA Cup, while AC Chievo Verona missed out by a single point.

Udinese joined Parma on 56 points thanks to a 2-1 win at home to S.S. Lazio, who finished fourth despite the defeat and earned a place in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League. Sulley Ali Muntari came on in the 69 minute with his side up 1-0

Despite a hat-trick from Oliver Bierhoff, Chievo were defeated 4-3 at champions Juventus FC and finished a point adrift of Parma and Udinese. John Mensah cam on in the second half, with his side, Chievo down 0-1

Matthew Amoah: scored a hat-trick for his side Vitesse Arnhem in an eight-goal thriller with Excelsior. The hat-trick in the 4-4 draw has taken Amoah's goal total to 14 this season.

Besiktas on Sunday crowned their centenary year in style by winning the Turkish league title thanks to a 1-0 win over city rivals Galatasaray.
