Black Queens coach, Yusif Bassigi has said his charges have the quality to prevail despite travelling to Cairo without two key players to face Egypt in an Olympic Games qualifier on Saturday.
The Black Queens left Accra on Wednesday evening ahead of the second round of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games qualifier after the team drew a bye in the first round.
Bassigi told GNA Sports that "The shape of the team is very good though we will be playing without two of our key players.
" Samira Sulemana and Linda Eshun who both travelled to Ice Land last week were very key to the team. But since they left, we have found a good replacement and I do not see their absence affecting us."
Ghana will be attempting a maiden qualification to the global Games and Bassigi insists his team is ready to clear all teams off their path to qualify.
"We are desperate to do well and qualify because it remains the only competition we are yet to participate in. The team understands what it means to qualify and that is self-motivating."
He said of his opponents despite the assertion that the Queens will start as favourites. " We know that on paper we look the stronger side. But history has changed a lot.
" Though we are confident about our chances, we do not underestimate any opposition these days. We have not forgotten how Algeria defeated us at the last African Women Championship (AWC). We will take no chances.
" We have a fair idea about how our opponents will approach the game in terms of style and we have prepared for everything."
The winner over two legs will meet the victor in the match involving Guinea Bissau and Cameroon at the third round of the qualifiers.
