"Kotoko should be commercialized and set up a micro finance"- former CEO Jarvish Pepra
Former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club Jarvis Owusu Peprah has proposed for Kotoko to be commercialized in other for the club to generate funds.
The former CEO emphasized that the club should exploit for a maximum profit out from it teeming followers with that numerous advantage over it competitors.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been battling with issues of finances in the past and currently with various managements. This financial challenge the club goes through has consistently led to past managements of the club coming out and reporting stories of the club indebtedness to these past administrators.
Mr. Jarvis Peprah one time CEO of the club believes by commercializing the club, Kotoko will be able to generate enough revenue to run the club and drag them from their current tailspin.
The former CEO insists Kotoko has been always running at a deficit due to the higher expenditures of the club which outwits the club’s revenues.
Mr. Peprah considers it to be prudent to balance the books of the club by commercializing the whole aspect, not looking out for funds from sponsorships and gate proceedings alone.
“Why not commercialized Kotoko, we can, we can set up a micro finance. As fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko people will like to go for loans at this bank, and it will generate some incomes, setting up of pure water factories, transport company etc” Mr Owusu said on Kumasi based Hello FM.
The former administrator continued that monies that come in the club are not sufficient enough to run a club like Asante Kotoko and by commercialization of the club it will be one great opportunity for Kotoko to raise funds and redeem it image.
“You see monies coming into the club all these monies some will be deducted by the FA, the club is running at a loss due to deficit and especially when the club is playing in Africa and had to travel to the northern part is worse off.”
“Kotoko should be business that is where there will be pride in the club” He added.
