Kotoko Circle 80 gives to Westphalian Village

Oyoko (Ashanti Region) - The Ahwiaa branch of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko Supporters Union (Circle 80), has donated 15 pieces of student's mattress, a box of key soap and one-and-half bags of rice worth ?1.3m to the Westphalian Children's Village at Oyoko in the Sekyere East district of Ashanti. The supporters also presented 200,000 cedis cash to the inmates.

Presenting the items on Tuesday, Nana Kofi Karikari, chairman of the Circle, said the donation formed part of the supporters social responsibilities to assist the less fortunate ones in the society. He said the circle would continue to assist the Village from time to time and pledge to market the Village to other sporting organisations to enable them assist them.

Benjamin Konadu, Supervisor of the Village, who received the items, commended the supporters for the gesture, which he said, was the first to be made by supporters of a football club.

He said the Village needed a lot of support both in kind and in cash to enhance their activities and appealed to the supporters to canvass for more support to the village to enable other organisations to assist it to provide quality service to the children. Konadu said most of the organisations who used to assist the village regularly have now stopped and urged philanthropist organisations to come to their aid.
