Major sponsor of Nigerian national teams, Globacom, has urged the Flying Eagles to go for victory against Ghana when they clash today in the first semifinal match of the 2015 Africa Youth Championship in Senegal.
The Flying Eagles, with seven points, topped Group A to qualify for the semifinals ahead of group mate and host Senegal.
In a press statement in Lagos yesterday, Globacom said: “The Manu Garba coached Flying Eagles have been outstanding during the group stage, defeating Senegal and Congo and playing a draw with Cote d’Ivoire in the last match. We believe they will consolidate on their performance as they advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.”
It added: “We are aware of the challenge posed by Ghana, but we equally have strong faith in you to qualify for the finals, thus moving closer to lifting the trophy again.”
Ghana qualified for the semifinals with six points behind Group B winners, Mali, who will lock horns with Senegal in the second semifinal match on Thursday.
Globacom is the official telecommunications partner of the Nigeria Football Federation and the major sponsor of the national teams.
