Zambia midfielder, Larry Bwalya, has emphasized that his team would go all out to defeat Ghana in Group B’s second match day of the 2015 African U-20 Championship in Senegal on Thursday.
The Junior Chipolopolo lost to Mali 1-0 in their opener on Monday while Ghana outplayed South Africa 2-0 to join Nigeria, who crushed hosts Senegal 3-1, as teams to beat at the tournament.
“We are focusing on our next game against Ghana. We will put in everything because collecting three points is very important for us,” Bwalya told the Zambian FA official website.
“We know Ghana are strong but they are not invincible and nothing is impossible in football. We will fight for a win from the blast of the whistle until the end of the game,” he said.
Zambia must win their next match or claim at least a point to brighten their chances of progress to the semi-finals.
“Losing to Mali was a wake-up call for us, and so winning our next match is very important. We are playing for our country Zambia and a lot is expected of us,” he said.
“We are going to put in a lot of effort to get a win against Ghana.”
The Junior Chipolopolo will play South Africa's Amajita in their final group match at the Leopold Senghor Stadium on Sunday.
