Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play Sekondi Hasaacas at the Kumasi sports stadium on Sunday, April 6 in a friendly football match as part of its build up.
The match, according to Mr Kwabena Sarpong Akosah, Press and Public Affairs Officer of the club, was one of the friendlies arranged by the team before the Premier league commenced.
Kotoko have so far played five friendly matches in the last seven weeks, having hosted Brong-Ahafo United, Neoplan Stars, Real Tamale United, Bofoakwa and Semassi Club of Togo and Sunday's match will be the sixth.
Rates for the match will be 10,000 cedis, 20,000 cedis and 30,000 cedis.
Meanwhile, Kotoko will play its first friendly match outside Kumasi on Friday, April 4 against Brong Kyempim Akofuor of Techiman, a first division side at Techiman.
Supporters of the club, particularly those in the Techiman area have therefore been asked to take note and attend the match to cheer the team to victory.
Meanwhile the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has appointed Malik Jabir, the Technical Director of the club with immediate effect.
A release signed by Mr Kwabena Sarpong Akosah, Press and Public Affairs Officer of the club in Kumasi on Tuesday, said Malik will essentially serve as the liaison between management and the technical team.
It said Malik's position did not mandate him to interfere with the work of the head coach, Abdul Razak and that management will like to see regular and fruitful consultations with him, Malik and the coach.
The technical director's responsibilities the release said, will be to scout for players as well as the technical direction of the club's Under-20 team.
Malik, a former Kotoko and Black Stars player and a member of the club's 1970/71 Africa champions cup winning squad, has a vast coaching experience and had coached both local and foreign teams.
Also, the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has put goalkeeper Osei Boateng on the transfer list.
A press release signed by Mr Kwabena Sarpong Akosah, Press and Public Affairs Officer of the club in Kumasi on Tuesday, said his contract with Kotoko could not be renewed because of the very excessive demands he had made to the club.
What has compelled management to put goalkeeper Boateng on transfer is that he has not responded to management's offer.
The release said management therefore wished him success in his endeavours.
