Liberia FA boss boosts BYC with cash donation

Liberia FA chief Musa Bility has donated $1,000 to BYC and urged them to forget about Kotoko’s big name and defeat the Ghanaian side in the Champions League on Sunday.

There can be no stones left unturned for the Liberians in the sojourn to see local champions BYC cruise through to the next round of the Champions league against Ghana’s Asante Kotoko at the ATS in Monrovia.

LFA President Musa Bility yesterday donated a motivational cash purse of US$1,000 when he paid a courtesy call on the team ahead of Sunday's match.

Bility admonished the BYC family to rise above the fray and make history on Sunday by defeating the two-time African champions.

Bility said: “you people can make history on Sunday by becoming the first top-flight club in many years to cross the first stage of the CAF prestigious competition. Forget about the big name of your opponent and the score line of the first leg and play to win.

He said a BYC victory would also see the ranking of the Liberian league go high, thereby attracting scouts and sponsors to it.

BYC is making their debut appearance in the CAF competition. In the first leg last Sunday, BYC fell at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi 2-1 to one of Africa’s powerhouses, Kotoko.

The Liberian champions need a 1-0 win to move on to the next stage of the competition.
