BYC President warns Kotoko: We are here to win

President of Barrack Young Controllers (BYS) Sekou Konney insists his team is in Ghana to beat Asante Kotoko in the opening CAF Champions League preliminary round.

The Ghanaian champions are hosting the Liberian side in the first leg of the qualifying round in Kumasi. Kotoko want to banish the disappointment of last season where they crashed out of the Champions League at the ultimate qualifying stage against JSM Bejaia.

But the President of BYC says the Porcupine Warriors are in for another shocking defeat as his side is well prepared to get a favourable result on Sunday.

“We have very high expectation taking the maximum result. We didn’t come here to just walk around but rather with an objective and that objective is to win,” Konney told Metro FM.

“Kotoko is a big team but that is all part of history. Football is played on current form and not history”. “Otherwise Real Madrid will win every game but that is not the case”.

“Why should we fear Kotoko? Has Kotoko won the Champions League in the last ten years?” “So I think we all have equal strength and the good thing for us is that Kotoko doesn’t know too much about us and that is to our advantage.”
