GFA boss to appoint members of Emergency Committee

Footy-ghana.com can reveal that with effect from 2015, the President of the Ghana Football Association will have the power to select members of the Emergency Committee, the second highest decision making body of the Association.

According to our sources, this was a decision taken at the GFA’s annual Congress on Wednesday in Prampram.

Previously, Emergency Committee members were voted for by the 24-strong Executive Committee, but the latest decision means that should current GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi stand for re-election in two years’ time and win another term, he will have the power to appoint members of the Emergency Committee himself, allowing him to choose his Vice President.

The members of the Emergency Committee will be selected by the President from amongst Executive Committee members.
