Akotoshie Constructs Sports Field

The people of Akotoshie, a farming community near Amasaman are constructing a sports field at the cost of ten million cedis.

Conducting GNA Sports around the project on Tuesday, Mr Kingsley Afedo, Assembly member of the area said more than two million cedis has been spent on the project so far with the people providing communal labour.

Mr Afedo said, Mr Atta Quaye Armah, Member of Parliament for Ga South who toured the area commended the people for their self-help spirit and promised to support them with four million cedis from the MP's common fund to support sports development in the area. He appealed to sports lovers in the area to contribute their quota for the completion of the project.

He promised to donate footballs and jerseys to clubs in the area and appealed to them to train seriously to achieve higher levels. Some of the clubs which would use the field include Rockey of Ages of Akotsoshie, Kings of Agotekore, Young Stars of Ahiabu Korpe and Shining stars of Sabaman.

The MP commended Nii Opah Okosso the second, Chief of Opah for his involvement in the project and called on other chiefs to emulate him.
