Mahatma: Hearts destined to win FA CUP

Accra Hearts of Oak skipper Mahatma Otoo says the team will be aiming to win the Ghana FA Cup for the fans this season.

The former African Champions are currently 8th on the Ghana Premier League log with 30 points in the 16-team league.

Hearts of Oak’s realistic chance of silverware this season is the FA Cup and Otoo is very optimistic of winning it for the Phobians.

Otoo, who is the current leading scorer of the domestic top flight, told GBC Sports that the team will give out their very best to defeat second-tier side Gold Stars on Sunday in the quarter-finals of the competition and have fixed their eyes firmly on winning the trophy.

“We are playing the FA Cup on Sunday and our target is to win against Gold Stars and move on in the competition,” the 21-year old noted.

“Looking at the league, it will be very difficult to win it but the FA Cup is what we are targeting to win and I want us to win it for our fans,” Otoo added.

The record holders of the Ghana FA Cup will welcome Bibiani Gold Stars to the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
