Cyanide retain Tarkwa Tigo Community Soccer title

Tarkwa shed it s tag as mining hub and rebranded itself as a
hotbed of football this weekend when the Tigo Community Soccer competition came
to town.
Communities summoned their best players, some including
Premier League players, to vie for the title and qualification to the national
final.
When it was all said and done, Cyanide proved too deadly for
the other teams and walked away with the title.
They became the second team in the 2012/2013 Tigo Community
Soccer to successfully defend their title from the first edition in 2010.
In what was an evenly contested final with Bankyem,
regulation time proved inadequate for both teams so penalties followed. Cynide
won 5-3 in the shootout.
The champions won for themselves, the prestigious trophy,
gold medals, Tigo souvenirs and a cash prize of GH¢500 (five hundred Ghana Cedis).
Losing finalists, Bankyem, had reason to smile as they were
given silver medals, Tigo souvenirs and GH¢300 (three hundred Ghana Cedis).
Kadadwen took third place and won a cash price of GH¢200 and Tigo souvenirs.
Robert Azaletey, captain of winners Cyanide, walked away
with the best player award, for which he got a brand new Samsung smartphone.
Tigo Community Soccer moves to Techiman in the Brong Ahafo
this coming weekend.
