Fuseini to undergo surgery in SA

Black Maidens player Amina Fuseini is set to undergo a knee operation in South Africa in the coming days.
The operation has become necessary to correct Amina’s knee which she injured while on national duty with the Black Maidens.
A distraught Amina Fuseini confirmed that officials of the GFA are working on her visa and the necessary preparations for the operation.
“It is very difficult to miss the tournament but the FA President has assured me that everything is going to be fine. The doctors told me while I was in Germany that the operation cannot be done in Ghana that is why I am going to South Africa. I got a knock while play a friendly game with the Maidens against a team in Swedru. At the time the team doctors said I was going to be fine so I went to Germany and during training I seemed to have aggravated it.
It was serious and painful so the doctors told me to come home (Ghana) to prepare for an operation,” Amina said.
Amina was an integral part of Ghana’s squad for the U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan until her injury which forced the GFA to replace her with Belinda Anane.
The Black Maidens, making their third straight appearance at the U-17 World Cup, opened their campaign with a 2-1 defeat against Germany on Sunday in Group D. Mas-Ud Didi Dramani’s side will also face Uruguay and China PR in the group.
